Hair straightening tips?

I have out of control curls, and I like to straighten my hair. My hair is very fine. I straighten it every day I am going somewhere, which means at least 5 days a week. I get a lot of breakage and split ends. I start with Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine shampoo and conditioner in the shower, then out of it I use Paul Mitchell: Modern Elixers Refining Conditioner, Super Skinny Serum, and Straight Works. Then I blowdry, and then straighten with my Paul Mitchell Straightner in the morning (I also put in Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops, and I spray on some Matrix Sleek Look).

Can someone reccomend some other products I can use to either replace the ones I use or to add to them to better protect my hair, or products that work good, besides the ones I use?

Also, could someone give me any tips thry know of for straightening hair?

Thanks!

Try not to straighten your hair so much! However if you want straight hair, try to go from a ceramic straightener if you aren't already using one. Air dry your hair as often as possible and do a deep conditioning treatment at least once every two weeks as well as trimming your hair every month. Drink tons of water and eat balanced meals to keep your hair healthy. If you straighten your hair so much you many even want to consider getting a permanent chemical treatment that makes your hair pin straight. It's expensive but it's better then doing damage to your hair so often.

I shampoo my hair with Dove in the dark blue bottle, and use the repairing conditioner in the dark blue tube. I use the dove conditioning spray for flyaways and the cream as well.

Remington wet 2 straight flat iron. the best. $25 bucks

I use lorea'l straightening cream to protect hair before I straighten and then apply a dime size drop of baby oil to prevent frizz and flyaways.

My hair turns out gorgeously silky soft and straight.

I heard that Chi straightening balm works great before straightening your hair.

i love paul mitchell!!! neways, i have curly hair 2. i put my hair in sections and instead of blow drying my entire hair then straightening, i blow dry a section, straighten that section then move on to another one.it might seem like it takes longer, but it really dosent. i think it's actually faster. it works so good!! and for products, i would use john frieda relax on wet hair, but don't use 2 much or it will make ur hair all greasy and gross. also, use chi spray on ur hair when u straighten it. it smells sooo good!!! it smells kinda like cologne, but kinda girly at the same time...

hope i helped!! =)

If you do this routine everyday, I would recommend using salon products for your hair b/c they are tested more thoroughly than drugstore brands. I change my hair color alot so my hair, like yours, sometimes gets split ends and breakage. I take good care of my hair for that reason. Here are my most favorite products -- I love the Biolage line. I use the hydrating shampoo %26amp; conditioner. For detangling %26amp; a leave in conditioner, I like the Biolage Daily Leave In Tonic and I also like the Infusium Leave In Conditioner -- both are good for split ends and stop the breaking of the hair. I also do a BIOSILK recovery conditioning treatment on my hair often, which has been the one product to save my hair!!! Since I highlight my hair often, I use this stuff pretty regular, and it has stopped the breaking so far. Love it. Make sure your hair is completely dry before flat ironing it. If you use hot instead of cool to dry it, I would recommend that when its dry, use the cool setting for a minute on your hair to lock in the shine and moisture. Never flat iron your hair right after blow drying it while its still hot, it will only cause more frizz. Let it cool. Also, before using the flat iron, use a heat styler. I use Tre Semme Heat Tamer, works good. Straighten your hair in sections, starting with the bottom. Spray the bottom section with the heat tamer, then straighten. Take the next layer of your hair, spray, then straighten. Do this until all of your hair is straightened, spraying each section with the heat tamer as you go along. I like to finish mine off with the CHI shine infusion for extra shine. Hope you will try some of these products and hope they work as good for you as they do for me!

First you are making an awesome choice by using a Paul Mitchell flat iron. i've used alot of flat irons and Paul Mitchell is the best!

yes use the Super Skinny Serum, but here are some other products that will look better::

When your hair is dry, spray some of this on right before you flat iron it ALTERNA Hemp Straightening Starch [in a mahogany marron colored bottle] . This protects hair 10x better than anything i've ever used!

MASTEY Code Red Cuticle Mender [in a bright red bottle]. you spray this on towel dried hair. this mends all the damage on your hair.

this is a miracle worker!!!!!!!!

hope i helpped!!!!!!!!!!!
